Netflix confirmed on X that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is getting its U.S. streaming premiere on Saturday, Oct. 17, just six days after the remaster airs in Japan on Oct. 11, according to CBR. No Crunchyroll required, apparently — the series is nowhere on Crunchyroll's fall 2026 lineup, even after the service updated that list as recently as Sept. 30.

That's a wild turn considering Crunchyroll handled Dragon Ball Daima during its 2024-2025 run, including the English dub, and has deep ties to the franchise through the Funimation merger. It's not confirmed whether Netflix has exclusive U.S. rights, but if it does, that's a real L for Crunchyroll, especially months after its own Chief Content Officer took shots at Netflix's anime lineup back in July.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus - October 11

Fans who can't wait get a head start anyway: an advance screening drops at New York Comic-Con's Dragon Ball panel on Oct. 8 at noon. This is also the first time Netflix has locked in a U.S. date for the Beerus remaster at all, so no debate, this is the move to watch this month.
