Toyotarou Finally Locked In Who's Replacing Goku and Vegeta, No Debate
Dragon Ball Super's manga closes a loose thread Toriyama never got to finish.

Toyotarou has officially confirmed who steps up as Goku and Vegeta's successors in the Dragon Ball Super manga, according to CBR.
The story revisits a loose thread from the original series: Goku wanted Gohan and Goten ready to protect Earth once he was gone, but Akira Toriyama never got to show that handoff happening before the manga wrapped, the outlet reports.
Neither Gohan nor Goten ended up becoming the franchise's next true hero under Toriyama, though Goku and Vegeta did receive proper heirs by the end of Dragon Ball GT, according to CBR. Toyotarou's latest chapter locks that succession in as canon.
