Dragon Ball SD Chapter 128 Remakes the Cell Games Announcement 16 Years Into Its Run
The manga, which already acts as fans' unofficial DBZ remake, has Cell proposing his tournament right as Goku and Gohan leave the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Dragon Ball SD Chapter 128, "Notice of the Cell Games," remakes the moment Cell calls off his fight with Future Trunks and announces the Cell Games instead, retelling the ground covered by Dragon Ball Z Episode 166 and the manga's Chapter 194, according to GameRant. The same chapter also catches up Goku and Gohan as they leave the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to rest before the tournament.
Dragon Ball SD has functioned as an unofficial, more comedic remake of the original manga since it launched in 2010, incorporating nods to Dragon Ball Super while staying faithful to Dragon Ball Z's story as it's gone on. Based on its pacing, Chapter 129 is expected to cover Goku's fight with Cell, with Chapter 130 likely picking up Gohan's. The series still has no anime adaptation 16 years in, and creator Naho Ooishi has taken 16 years to cover ground Akira Toriyama drew in eight.
