Dragon Ball Super Is Getting Remastered As 'Beerus' With New Redrawn Scenes
Exec producer Akio Iyoku confirms the enhanced edition has quietly been cooking for years, rebuilding the story with brand new cuts.

Dragon Ball franchise executive producer Akio Iyoku just confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an enhanced edition of the original Dragon Ball Super anime, has actually been in production for a few years already, according to Anime News Network. This isn't just a re-air — Iyoku says it's a full reconstruction of the story with new and redrawn cuts mixed in, so even folks who've seen the original are getting something different this time.
For anyone who somehow missed it the first time, Dragon Ball Super originally ran 131 episodes from July 2015 to March 2018, with Funimation and Crunchyroll streaming it as it aired and Funimation putting out the home video release. The English dub dropped on Funimation's streaming service in December 2016 before landing on Adult Swim's Toonami block in January 2017, which is where a whole generation caught up with Goku and the gang all over again.
No release window has dropped yet for Beerus, but the fact that this has apparently been in the works for years low-key means the wait might be shorter than people think.
