Z-Fighters squad builds: the Dragon Ball group costumes that actually work

Group costumes fail for one reason: somebody’s piece does not exist. So every build here is made only from what is actually listed in the Dragon Ball section at HalloweenCostumes.com right now — 45 costumes, wigs and kits, adult through infant. Six squads, every picture is the real product. Pick one, send it to the chat, done.

The Saiyan pair (2 people). Goku and Vegeta. The duo everyone understands, the rivalry everyone has an opinion on, and the strongest two-person silhouette in anime. Plus-size versions of both exist.

Capsule Corp couple (2). Vegeta and Bulma is the canon couple, so that is the one. For the OG Dragon Ball crowd, Bulma’s pink dress next to a Kid Goku. And if she is the fighter in the relationship, the women’s Goku is a real costume, not a reskin.

Father and son (2–3). Goku with Kid Goku is the parent-and-kid costume of the year and it is not close — infant, toddler and child sizes all exist, tail included. Adult Gohan with a child Gohan is the version for Cell-saga dads.

The Kame House crew (3–4). This is literally our name, so of course. Master Roshi (plus size too), a Kid Goku, Bulma, and whoever is the lowest-effort friend takes the $19.99 Roshi kit and a Hawaiian shirt. Kids Roshi exists, which is either a great idea or a terrible one.

The Namek arc (4–5). Frieza, Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan, and a Super Saiyan Goku to end it. Frieza is the only villain in the entire lineup, so he is the anchor and the squad is built around him. Child Piccolo, child Vegeta and Trunks let a kids’ group run the same arc.

The wig squad (any number). For the group that decided at 6 pm. Everyone buys a wig — Goku, Super Saiyan, Vegeta, Gohan, kid sizes too — and matching dark tees. Put Saiyan armor on one person and a Piccolo mask on another and from ten feet away it is the full roster.

Prices are what HalloweenCostumes.com showed on October 9 and sale tags move. Beerus premieres on Crunchyroll this Sunday, October 11 — the squad can be ready by the 31st.
